FAQS

How do I get started?

Easy!  Just call and schedule an appointment.  I will come to your home and meet you and your pet. The initial meeting takes 30 to 45 minutes.

Do I need to be home when you pick up my pet?

No.  Many of our clients just give us a key or provide access for us.  We are insured for your peace of mind.

How long is each outing?

The actual outing is 1-2 hours.

Where do you go?

East Bay Regional Parks.  We have special permits which allow us access to the many wonderful off leash trails.

What if my dogs recall isn’t very good?

We work on recall with reward based training and long leads. You will be pleasantly surprised with the results.

What if my dog doesn’t play well with others?

I make sure the dogs are compatible within each group. I have been very successful in helping many dogs to overcome their issues.

How many dogs do you take at a time?

It depends on the group.  The East Bay Regional Parks allows a

maximum of 6 dogs per handler.

What happens when it rains?

We get wet!

Does the same person come every day?

Yes.

What if something happens to my pet on the trail?

We have all been trained in animal first aid and CPR.

Do you provide boarding services?

Yes, but I only board the dogs I hike.  This familiarity insures a stress free stay in my home.

How much is each outing?

Please see services page.

Do you take care of other animals or just dogs?

I also take care of cats and some birds (no snakes please).

How old does my dog have to be to go out on hikes?

Most vets suggest waiting until your pup has had all their shots before  hitting the trails.  As a special service, I will come to your home with one of my “canine ambassadors” after their second

set of shots to begin work on socialization.  This is vital to their development and gives them a “first time buddy” on the trail.
